Escape from the real world

Just got back from a wonderful week at the beach. I even (gasp!) left the computer, and thus email, at home. Aside from the younger cousins fighting 75% of the time, it was very peaceful. The house was on the marsh side of the beach, but with ocean view - perfect! The kids got to fish off the dock, there was a pool for when we tired of the sand and ocean currents, and the walk to the beach itself was nothing. We discovered bocce balls don't float (they sail away under water in the current), that putt-putt is fun for all ages, from 4-50+, that I am actually decent at putt-putt vs. any other sport, and that all in all our whole family still gets along fine (minus the younger cousins, who all have the same "I'm in control of everything" temperament).

Reading material for the week consisted of Lisa Scottoline law thrillers and a People magazine. Why think if you don't have to?

Tomorrow it is back to the grind-stone. I have been asked to review a book for Charity Channel, an online network for non-profit professionals, so it's back to work reading vs. pleasure reading.

Happy summer everyone.
